Art (Full-Time)
FETAC Level 5 Art 5M1985
Fine Art full-time is a 2 year course offering a wide mix of exciting subjects.Designed to facilitate individual artistic and personal development, the course covers:
Drawing
Painting
Printmaking
Sculpture
Combined Materails
Photography Techniques
Communications
Work Experience.
These modules are offered through a variety of techniques, media and materials. Life drawing, charcoal, conté and graphite drawing of man-made and natural objects, watercolour and acrylic painting techniques, lino and drypoint printing, willow sculpture, paper-maché, junk sculpture and pinhole photography are just a few samples of what can be experienced.
The academic year starts in the third week in September and follows the national school holiday periods, finishing in mid-June. FETAC assessments are at the beginning of May and the End of Year Exhibition in June celebrates the work of all KCAT students. KCAT full time courses are part-funded by Co. Kilkenny VEC.
Participants are offered the opportunity to complete the FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Art, 5M1985. Individual components successfully passing assessment will receive relevant associated minor award(s). Successful achievement of the full Level 5 Major Award offers progression opportunities to FETAC Level 6 and/or to third level institutions nationally.
Entry is by application and interview. Art materials are provided as part of the course.
